Why doesn't my Lexmark ink work? plz help me!?
-
Hi, I'm really short on cash at the moment and i really need printer ink but the Lexmark ink is about £20.00 per cartridge. Anyway my problem is that I ordered some ink online from a site called internet-ink.co.uk for a cheaper price, the cartridges that I have ordered are almost exactly the same as the real Lexmark cartridges but they don't work. I put the cartridges in and it say on my printer "right cartridge is incorrect" and when I try and print something I get a blank page. I don't know what to do now. My printer model number is x5470 I have definatley inserted the cartridges in correctly because I have followed the instructions and also the black cartride is fine because that is the genuine Lexmark cartridge, I don't understand why they dont work becuse they are absoloutley compatible with my printer. Please someone figure out a solution for me... if you need more details e-mail me. Thank you in advance

Answer:
hi, i would say that you have a bad ink cartridge. Lexmark uses a electronics chip on the cartridges to let the printer know you are using the correct one. If you have a refilled cartridge it could be the wrong one in the wrong box, or it is defective out of the box. i would contact the place you purchased it from and let them know it is bad. the worst part of buying online is getting a replacement in a hurry!!!!! ask around at school or work to see if someone else you know uses a ink refill service and ask them how good the Company is and then use them from now on if you like the service/price... good luck

It is very possible that you received a defective cartridge. These cartridges have intelligence (i.e. electronics) built-in. You might try this: With the cartridge installed, remove the power cord. With power cord removed, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, then power back on and re-test.
If you have an Asda near you, go there. Their Lexmark cartridges are very cheap and are totally genuine
is ur printer an hp?
Could the operative word here be "almost exactly the same?" Almost? If it's "almost" and not EXACTLY, this is your answer.
