Hooking up a second monitor to my laptop?

IF you have a DVI-I port, then get a male to female VGA adapter, and plug it into the DVI-I port and use your monitor in the VGA adapter. If not, then you can get a VGA splitter.

Your notebook can act as a 2nd monitor - look at the F keys above the numbers at the top of the keyboard, usually (normally blue) there is a picture on one of the keys that looks a bit like a monitor. Hold down the (usually blue) key that is marked Fn (usually on the left of the keyboard near Ctrl) and press that F key ... you can switch between Notebook monitor, external monitor or both. Choose both then: 1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties. 2. In the DisplayProperties dialog box, click the Settings tab. 3. Click the Display list and select your external monitor. If you do not see multiple monitors listed, your computer hardware may not support Dualview. You can still use MaxiVista to configure a second computer as an additional display, however. 4.
