How can I adjust my screen's color temperature?

I am having problems with my monitors color settings?

  • I am not being able to correctly configure my color setting in my Samsung SyncMaster 793DP CRT monitor.some colors seem too deep where they are actually not supposed to the monitors color setting layout goes as follows color temp:currently showing 9300k red: 0-100 green: 0-100 blue: 0-100 (I have to adjust the value using buttons on the monitor) What should be the value for the primary colors to get the best combination? And one more thing,it also shows the color temperature. But its not changeable. Is there any particular color temperature that i have to achieve by adjusting the settings to get the proper color? If there is any other way, please mention that.

  • Answer:

If you're using sRGB (adjusting each color individually), that overrides color temperature setting. Try using 6500K color temperature instead of sRGB and see if that yields better results. If not, then adjust each color individually so that red is a bit higher than green and blue, and then set either green or blue very slightly higher than the other (up to you). For example: Red 81, Green 76, Blue 78. If there are still problems, try adjusting the input level if your monitor to 1.0 V instead of 0.7 V (or vice versa). If that still doesn't do the trick, then you may have to open it up and adjust the amplification of each electron gun (do not attempt if you don't know exactly how to do this).
