Computer screen sometimes becomes blue and "pixel?

My computer won't start up properly when using an HDTV as my monitor. Any solutions?

  • I have set up my computer desk with my HDTV on the raised platform in front of me, and my LCD monitor off to the side. I have the HDTV connected to my graphics card via HDMI cable with a VGA-to-HDMI adapter. When the TV adapter isn't plugged in, the LCD monitor is the main display. When I plug in the adapter, the computer recognizes it and the HDTV becomes my primary display, like I want, with the LCD monitor to the side being the secondary display. However, each night I turn off my computer and when I go to reboot it the next day, the computer starts up, the HDTV displays a distorted HP:Invent splash screen, and then everything goes black. The LCD power light goes from green to yellow, as in standby, and the computer never progresses to the next step. I then have to force-shut off the computer and the computer IMMEDIATELY turns off after I press the button. I have to unplug the HDMI adapter for the computer to start up properly, and then re-plug it in after the computer has started up to make the HDTV my primary display again. This is very annoying as I have to go behind the computer all the time to plug it in. Is there any way to make my PC start up correctly with the HDTV plugged into the computer? Very sorry for the long description, but I figured it'd make it easier if you guys knew exactly what was going on, step by step.
