Computer Monitor Help?

Computer turns on but monitor doesn't show anything. Help!?

  • Ok here's my problem. I go to turn my computer on and the mouse, keyboard and tower all seem to be working, but the monitor doesn't show anything. There is a light on the front of the monitor and it's green when the computer is working normally, and orange when the computer is off. (It's an LCD monitor) I figured the monitor wasn't working properly so I tried a different one (the one from the computer I'm on now) and it still wouldn't work. I also tried connecting my monitor from the non working PC, to this one and it didn't show anything. It stopped working in March and I've just been using my mom's computer and it's just really inconvenient for us both. I'm not the best with computers but I'm not totally useless on one either. If anyone can help me out with this it would be appreciated.

  • Answer:

    Plug it into the computer.

this happened to me today, after i took out my ram and put it back in, the monitor doesnt show anything till 2 mins after the boot and i can see my mouse and thats all. hope you can tell me how you solved your problem cause i might wanna solve mines, probably same case

Um, try buying a new one.

buy a new monitor and see if it works

sounds like the graphics card is bad. if you have an on-board one try that if not try to get a new one and see if that works or it could be bad ram or just not seated right. best bet is to take it to a shop and have them check it out.
