Which monitor is better for graphic design?

Dell S2209W Monitor for Graphic Design student?

  • I am a graphic design student and would like to purchase a fairly inexpensive monitor for doing projects in my apartment easily instead of working on my small laptop screen. I found the Dell S2209W Monitor for sale at $150. Would this be a good choice for me? if not, what is recommended?

    It's fine, just check for damage, If one or two pixels are missing it is not a big deal, a whole bunch of pixels are. If you test it using one of your design projects and it looks good then great have fun

In the current market, it's best to go to Samsung and get whatever's in your price range. You won't be disappointed, however that dell seems alright if buying first hand, but it won't have the colours/resolution of a good Samsung.

Dell makes great monitors and this seems like a really good model. If you're buying it second hand, make sure you examine the image closely. I got a couple used LCD monitors that I bought and they both have bruises (my word for areas that are slightly darker than the rest). Make sure the image looks good to you.
