Is there any way of changing screen startup resolution outside of windows itself?
-
Since yesterday my computer insists of starting up in a resolution that my monitor does not recognize. i've tried starting the computer up in safe mode and changing the resolution from there back to 800x600 but the computer still insists on chaining it whenever it starts up. Does anyone know any way of fixing this problem or perhaps changing the resolution outside of windows itself since at the moment i can't get into it. Thanks All Meilyr P.S. I think the problem was initially caused somehow by Half Life 2/Steam since i was playing it before this problem started, although in the past I've had no such issues with Steam or HL2.

Answer:
When you startup press F8 and instead of selecting safe mode select "Enable VGA mode" this will solve your problem.
