Wide Screen Monitor help?

HELP! I just disabled my PCs "Default" Monitor and now my screen is black! What do I do?

• I need urgent help guys...I just reinstalled my windows xp after a system crash. So I pretty much formatted my hard drive and installed Microsoft Windows XP Professional on it. Everything was fine except that I couldn't find my install Disk for my Acer X203H LCD Flat Screen Monitor, so my PC was using its "Default" Monitor which wouldn't allow me to set my color rate/screen resolution higher then default, nor did it allow me to access my Monitor Properties!! I tried downloading the Acer Driver online but that didn't work either. >>Now I was getting frustrated and I screwed up I admit it. I thought that if I "disable" my default monitor>>disable the selected device<< it would try to recognize my Acer Monitor but now every time I start up the computer, it works but my Display stays Black!!!. Please somebody help me and tell me what to do. If you have instructions please be as detailed as possible my computer skills are not as advanced *go figure* :-) Thank You everyone God Bless

  Reboot the computer. As soon as the tower begins to fire up, start tapping the f8 key. Wait a half a minute and hit the down arrow once and then enter if you still can't see the monitor start. This should start the computer in Safe mode with networking. If the monitor still doesn't light up, shut down, put the XP disk back in and try reloading it again. It should install the generic drivers again. If you get this far, don't tamper with the settings. You need to get the drivers not only for the monitor but also the video card, networking adapter and sound card. Hope this helps. Good luck!
