What do I need for a green screen?

Do you need to light a green screen?

  • im getting a green screen and i have watched alot of videos on how to set them up. in most of them they say to light your screen evenly do you have to light a green screen for it to work???

    You dont really have to light it but it is best to do so, so that you don't have a shadow. You don't really want the shadow because it does not look good when you put it together.

its probably best to light a green screen because if you don't, your body (or whatever it is thats in front of the screen) will cast a shadow on the green screen. When you go to do the Chroma Key it'll look like crap because the shadowed green and the normal green are two different shades.
