How can I get my HDTV monitor to connect to my Windows 7 computer with a VGA cord? Okay so before my new computer, all I did was plug in the VGA to my monitor and it worked just right. Now it seems the monitor doesn't recognize the computer or something. I think I either need to fix the resolution to a certain one, or get a different type of cord. Here are the facts. -I am able to connect the monitor to the computer with a VGA cord. -Turning on my computer with it connected, the tv monitor doesn't pick up the connection. -The TV is an Olevia: Model LT20S -Also I just noticed im attaching the VGA to a motherboard instead of a graphics card if that matters.. Damn that's probably the reason. So If my monitor only has a VGA port and I dont have a VGA port on my graphics card, is there any other way to connect the monitor to the motherboard is the new question?

Answer:
You only have dvi ports on your graphics card? You could just get a dvi>vga adapter. Its worth getting a dvi cable and using that instead, it gives you a better quality image.
