Annoying, occasional flickering on my monitor?

Can You Tell Me Why My Monitor Is Flickering?

• I have an Acer F-22 22" LCD monitor. I've owned it for about 30 days and used it for less than a week. After turning off the PC and leaving the monitor on for about 2 hours, I returned to see it flickering terribly. I had the same problem about 5 days ago, but after a few days the flickering diminished into nothing. I dusted off the monitor and removed any type of electrical equipment within the vicinity of my screen. The screen refresh rate is at 60 Hz (maximum) and the flickering is mostly visible on solid and colored backgrounds, like the blue space that surrounds a word document in Microsoft Word. I tested the monitor on another computer and I had the same problem. I'm going to ship it back to Acer on Tuesday if I can't resolve it by then, does anybody have any suggestions? Someone else told me it is a broken backlight. So if you could tell me a) why it's broken and b) what i can do to fix it i'd be extremely grateful. Thanks for reading.

  hey, basically you sucessfully troubleshoot your own monitor there. once you connect it to another pc and it produces the same problems it's the monitor. one last thing to note i recommend setting your desktop resolution to a low one like 800x600 and your refresh rate to a lower one. the reason is all monitors can support and work properly on low settings. then try it again. if your still experience the same problems.....the monitor is faulty. ship it back and they will replace it for you- who ever your bought it from.
