Xbox 360 monitor problem.

My monitor is not displaying my xbox 360 slim console properly on it. How would I fix this?

  • Hi I have a 24 inch Acer monitor which I use for my computer and sometimes for my xbox 360 slim console. I have connected the console to the monitor using a HDMI cable and when I play the game it is blury'ish. I never get this problem when i play the computer but it seems like the pixels are bigger or something and i can see the lines flickering on sharp objects in the game of course. I tried changing the display settings on the console to the same as the monitor. but it doesn't really show up properly. My monitor can do 1920 x 1080 but on the xbox it just tells me 1080p or 1080i. I don't know what it really means with the p and the i on the end of 1080 but it doesn't really show up properly cause i can see slight blurring on edges. Besides that there are a few others like 1680 x 1050 and more. but they are not the correct ones cause they don't fill the screen. Can somebody please help it is quite frustrating.

  • Answer:

Make sure you turn the monitor off when you are making the switch from the PC to the XBOX. The monitor needs to test what refresh rate to run at. The XBOX default is 60hz but the PC can be anything from 55-75hz depending on what settings you have it on in display manager. 1920x1080 @60Hz is equal to 1080P. A quick fix may be ensuring your PC's refresh rate is also 60Hz as well. That may end the monitor's confusion.
