Why does a computer screen go black?

Why does my computer screen go black?? How to fix?

  • If I leave the computer on, but don't go on it for a little while (20 minutesish?) the screen will go completely black. It's not the screensaver because when I wiggle the mouse or push a button, nothing happens. I end up having to manually shut down the computer and restart it. Also when the screen is black, the monitor light will still be green (meaning it's on) and it will sometimes flicker "auto-save". Does anyone know what's wrong?? Could you please tell me how to fix it?

    theres nothing wrong .. your pc are just in stand by.. sleep mode... click any keyboard key .. i always click esc... or move the mouse .. but that does not work on mine i have to press the keyboard then everything is back to normal... dont worry i can assure you that your pc has nothing wrong

You may have to configure your Power options. Go to Control Panel and click Power Options. From there you can configure the power options Monitor or the PC(After how long to turn the PC/Monitor off) etc..
