HDMI connection problems.

Hdmi tv- laptop HELP?

sO MY HP PAVILION running windows 7 is not connecting to my tv through an hdmi connection. There is nothing rong with the cord as i use the same cord for my ps3 to the same tv which has no problems. yesterday i was able to get only sound to work but now i cant get anything!!! help please... ps ive tried the resolution thing and extending and duplicating screen.. When i unplug then plug back hdmi cord computer screen goes black for a second meaning its recognizing the connection.. my sound on the bottom right display also says ati hdmi

might have to go into screen propertyies and change the display there
