Why my desktop becomes black?

MY DESKTOP WINDOW DISPLAY FREQUENTLY BECOMES SMALL AND LOOKS LIKE A NARROW BAND . HOW CAN I RECIFY ?

  • THE MONITOR SCREEN OF THE COMPUTER GETS CONDENSED AND APPEARS LIKE A NARROW BAND SHOWING BLACK BACKGROUND ON EITHER SIDE. THE SMALL DISPLAY IS UNUSUALLY BRIGHT . IT LASTS FOR A FEW SECONDS AND ASSUMES ORIGINAL SIZE AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT ANY EFFORTS .WHAT STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL STEP BY STEP

It's your monitor having problems with the automatic setup! To fix this, do the following.... When you are happy its all up and running fine, go into you video properties dialogue box and write down the resolution. Write this number down! (this bit is done on your pc) Then go into your monitor and TURN OFF It's automatic setup function and change the monitor resolution to the resolution you wrote down and were happy with. make this permanent. (this bit is done with the buttons on your monitor, NOT the pc) Then when you switch back on each time, the monitor will no longer automatically set-up, but will default to your fixed settings. The pc will comply.
