Problems with TV as display for computer?
-
Ok so I have my samsung 46" LCD TV hooked up via an HDMI cable to my computer and using that as the display. Now I started with a problem mwhere the display wouldn't fit the screen. It was almost like it was zoomed in. So parts of every edge was cut off. I started off by looking through the computer to see if the issue could be resolved that way, but unfortunately couldn't find anything. So I then went into the TV. Under one of the option under the picture menu I found where I could set the display ratio and by default it was set at 16:9. The last option was "FIT" so I selected that and then the image actually fit the TV. No cutting off of the edges. I THOUGHT I was good. About every hour the display resets itself and goes back to the 16:9 setting and the edges of every side is cut off. And its getting really annoying constantly going back and forth reseting it back to the "FIT" option. So I'm wondering exactly what I need to do to get it to where it's permanent on "FIT" and not constantly reseting itself. Thank You!

Answer:
Duct Tape the button down. Just kidding bro. Cant you right click on the desktop and the click on resolution and set a custom setting? Most PCs will let you do this, they have a tool that lets you drag the screen corners to the corners of the TV and set a custom res for big TVs like that. i am using a 42inch LCD and had to do this. Im running an Nvidia card and its in my nvidia control panel which is accessed the way i explained.

Hi, is your graphics card in your PC a Nvidia or AMD Radeon? Since you haven't replied I'll just try and guide you out. If you right click on your desktop, there should be an option to go into either Nvidia control panel or ATI Catalyst control panel. I can't guide you directly since it's different for each of the two and I'm currently on a mac, but inside the control centers are an option somewhere to adjust how the desktop will fit on the TV. Play around and you should find it. Good luck :-).
