How can I monitor another computer?

How can i transmit viewing material from my computer to a monitor screen in another room? (for watching 'tv')?

  • how can i have two monitors - one in my living room, & one in my study with my computer.. but the one in the living room, somehow linked to all my dvds/watching material which are stored on my computer in the study. this is because i don't have an actual tv.../tv licence/any interest in watching 'tv'/or advd or video player all my tv watching is souly through computer and from the internet (legally obviously)..

There are a few wireless VGA or wireless VGA/audio products on the market that would allow you to do this if they work well. I don't have any personal experience using one, but some get good reviews. It looks like they hook up to a USB port on your computer and provide a wireless monitor port anywhere you want the second monitor. They seem a little pricey at $150-$200. For that price, you could also just get an inexpensive netbook that's wirelessly networked to your computer in the study and hooked up to the second monitor.
