Whats going on with my computer monitor?

Computer monitor shutting off randomly?

  • Hey, I have been having a problem with my computer monitor. It has been shutting off randomly at different times. It stays off for a second to a minute. I have tried many things to fix it but I am stumped. I have tested the monitor on another computer and it is good, I have checked that power supply cord has 120 volts consistently. I have tried to restore the computer to before it was acting up, I have run in safe mode and it still shuts down. I have lowered the resolution on the monitor to see if it wasn't supporting the resolution anymore. I have switched the input for the video from the PCI video card to the mother board video. I am running out of ideas to try and see whats going wrong. Its very annoying! The only other thing I can think off is overheating, but there is no correlation between an activity and the monitor shutting off. Please help!
