Why does my monitor say "out of range?

HD Monitor advice please!?

• Hello all im thinking of getting a HD Monitor for gaming i game on consoles for the most part but im not to good at knowing about the ms times and stuff i was wondering for those of you who have hd monitors does yours have any input lag at all? and also is a 5ms just as good as a 2ms monitor, and this might be a stupid question but i will ask anyways i notice alot of people say that their monitors don't have speakers does this mean that the monitors have no sound coming out of them what so ever? I just want one because i get tired of using my older tv's because of the crazy input lag on my hdtv, im just wondering if me getting the monitor will make my games play as fluent as they do on the older tv's with no input lag at all. thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it my price range is around 180-200 bucks

  Check a site like digitalversus for the whole image: response time AND input lag. Many 1-2ms screens have 30ms input lag to get 24-bit colour simulation on the 18-bit native TN screen. digitalversus.com measures both response and lag. The famous LG W2600HP is still one of the best gaming screens ever made, even though it has a 8ms response time!
