My computer screen randomly goes black?

Computer screen goes black after a few seconds?

  • I have an Acer computer with Viewsonic computer screen, has been working fine up until half an hour ago. Now when I turn the computer screen on it works, but after a few seconds the screen goes black but the blue light that indicates the computer screen is on is still lit. When I turn it off then back on the same thing happens - works for a few seconds then goes black. Can someone please tell me whats happening and how I fix it?

    1. make sure the problem is from cpu or monitor (press numlock key on keyboard, look the light is switch on and switch off), if the light can switch on and off.. 2.try booting in safe mode (press f8 repeat before windows logo until appear safe mode to chose) If In The safe mode the problem not solve, this is the monitor problem, contact you local technician

You'll have to send it in, sounds like it's overheating and shutting off, probably because another component on the board, like a capacitor is failing. Get some "canned air" and blow out the dust in the back vents really well, because that can cause heat to build up as well.
