Does it damage your eyes if a computer moniter is bright?

Setting ur Computer Moniter to low contrast and bright damage ur eyes?

• All my friends and family keep telling me that i should put more bright and contrast to my screen or else ill damage my eyes.. I use the computer a lot (4-6 hours a day). When i use other's computers for few hours i get eye pain or my eye dryness cuz they use way too high contrast.. I dont set it to dark that u can really barely see, just a little low.

  I have the same problem with my eyes and my computer.Use a good screen protection or very light dark uv sunglasses.Use as less brightness as possible(not too low) ,remember blinkering and give your eyes some rest after an hour of usage.
