How can I connect my computer to my HDTV?

Why can't I connect my desktop computer to my Vizio HDTV? It just wont connect!?

right now im trying to use a VGAa cable which i have connected to my TV and my computer. i also have a DVI cable hooked from my computer to my normal monitor. i've tried all kinds of things to get it to work but haven't been able to figure it out. its like my tv just wont freakin connect.

Have you selected over the VGA input on your TV and hovered on it while its connected to your desktop? If this doesn't work then It means your Monitor is the primary connection when being connected to your computer, try just using the VGA on the TV without the one connected to the monitor if thats the one you just want to use for the time being. If you wish to use both at the same time you will have to go into your display graphics or in windows 7 right click then screen resolution to configure the computer to output on the DVI and VGA.
