Why is my monitor not working?

WHY ISNT my ps3 working with my monitor (HD) 24 inch Philips 244E1SB?

i got an HD monitor, with HDMI input- when i connect my ps3 to it via HDMI cable, it doesnt show a picture or audio. I have NO idea why, and trust me, i have tried EVERYTHING- including holding the power button for 5 seconds, setting the ps3 output to HD, and setting the ps3 to a lower resolution. There is absolutely no reason its not working...HDMI output (ps3) ---->HDMI input (monitor) Could it be because of HDCP? i dont even know what that is, but could it be because of that? but im pretty sure it isnt,becuse an HD monitor would have HDCP support

You say it's HD but you don't give a resolution. If it's higher than 1080P then maybe the PS3 is having a hard time figuring out how to work that. From what you gave though, it should work...
