Changing resolution in safe mode?

How to fix Screen Resolution? Please Help?

  • Earlier today I was trying to adjust how big the screen is. I foolishly did not look up how to do this and assumed changing the screen resolution would fix it. I put the computer in a lower resolution and it did not look how I wanted. After doing a few more options I changed it back to its original position. Now my Monitor states: Not Optimum Mode 1600 x 900 Recommended, with a black screen that moves from corner to corner in a diagonal method. I have tried restarting my computer, but that has not worked. I then tried safe mode to use this recommendation. That option is not available, but 1600 x 1200 is available and when changed it states the above Not Optimum Mode 1600 x 900 Recommend. The screen does not go black. The lower method that comes with it is 1280 x 1024. After saving the computer to that and restarting it, it still comes up with the black screen and: Not optimum mode 1600 x 900. Monitor is SyncMaster 2033. Please Help.
