How can I shoot my short film in a different aspect ratio?

How do I change the aspect ratio?

  • When I edit a video on Windows Live Movie Maker the aspect ratio is always wrong. Even when I select widescreen (16:9) the aspect ratio remains in normal screen (4:3). I figured out it must be the format that I shoot the footage in, but I can't change that. I was wondering if anyone knows any (VIRUS-FREE AND LEGAL) software that I can use that WILL WORK to change the aspect ratio completely!? I've heard of one called VirtualDub but I'm not sure it is exactly what I need? PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you.

  • Answer:

By your question, I assume you want to convert your raw footage to DVD format. If so, try DVDStyler. Google it. It's free, and is compatible with Windoze, Mac and Linux operating systems.
