Monitor And Motherboard?

What does the monitor plug into, Motherboard or Graphics Card.?

  • I'm planning on buying this Biostar A870u3 motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138318 But when i look at all the ports it has, it sais it has a Serial/COM port ( Whatever that is ). Now my monitor has a VGA cord, i was wondering, when i plug my monitor in, do i plug it into the motherboard connector or the Graphics Card connector. I'm thinking you only plug it into the motherboard when you have no Graphics Card, you guys tell me cause im not sure.

  • Answer:

By the looks of it, you will be able to use you monitor with the mother board, all you will need is a male to female vga cable. hope this helped.

Other answers

Usually into the graphics card, unless the MOBO has integrated graphics, then it should have a plug-in for the monitor

There is no built in graphics as you say The pictures do not show any graphics port. You will need a graphics card to make the computer have a monitor port
