How to know if a file has 'access' monitor in linux?

Where can I find a driver for my monitor?

  • I am running an IBM ThinkCentre PC, which was "refurbished" by JoySystems (read: made crappier). The copy of Windows XP that came with it is broken (I had to reinstall because I had a virus), ate its own hal.dll file, so we decided to install Ubuntu 10.04. Unfortunately, it can't figure out what kind of monitor I have, and I can't seem to find Linux drivers for this particular type of monitor anywhere online, but I'm probably inputting the wrong search terms, I'm pretty good at doing that. Monitor model no: E772c, 17", there's a bunch of other numbers that I wrote down from the back, but I don't know what they're for, I can add them in the Additional Info category if necessary. Once again, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, not Windows, so Windows drivers are useless. If anyone has any idea where I can go to get the drivers I need, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
