How to get a lower monitor resolution?
-
My new dell monitor, 22" for a xps 420, gave out so while waiting for another one I decided to use my old hewlett packard one. I can get my old monitor to work in safe mode because of the low settings but every time I go properties to change the resolution so I can use it in regular mode the lowest setting available is 800x something? I know I need to set it on 640x something and that resolution is obviously available because I can use this monitor on safe mode. Does anyone know how I can access this? Sorry if I did not use the right terms I only know enough about computers to get me into trouble.

Answer:
Just rt click on desktop and select properties. Click on settings tab and use the drop down list to choose. You'll have like 15 or 20 seconds to decide if you want to keep that resolution or to change to another one.
