I have a hp dv9930us and the screen has turned green! Can I fix it before my dad gets home lol?

I was using my dads laptop and closed it for a moment when I opened it back up the screen was green! The start bar was still in tact but the internet and the wallpaper and all the desktop icons have turned green. I turned it off and let it charge for about 20 minutes but when I turned it on it was still green. I need to fix this like asap, is this a do it yourself type thing or am I going to have to go to a repair shop? PLEASE HELP!
