How to connect laptop to tv using VGA to HDMI?

Trouble connecting my Asus N73 Laptop to my Sony Bravia TV through HDMI?

  • Hi, I just bought myself a Asus N73 laptop, it has a HDMI output port and I connected it to my Sony Bravia TV because my laptop is not full hd, only HD+. When I connect it this is what it looks like http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/4331/img6232k.jpg Now, it may look fine but check this out, the image is getting cut off. http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/5171/img6234ua.jpg http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/2541/img6235b.jpg I put it in the mode, no display on laptop but display on external display. The reason being that this is the only way I get full HD on my TV. I am using windows 7 64bit. These are the settings which appear when i connect it to my TV. http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/2772/img6233f.jpg Does anyone know how I can get the full image, it become annoying when I want to game on my TV or watch videos P.S. How much quality loss will I face if I connect my laptop to my TV through a VGA cable as opposed to a HDMI cable Thank You SO much in advance
