How do I get rid of the WhiteSmoke Translator Virus?

Why are there colored lines going across my screen?

  • Whenever i logged on earlier everything was fine.Then i downloaded a language translator program.When i went to sign off i seen the lines so i went in and removed them.Now i'm not sure if i have a virus.My laptop is only two weeks old and i pd alotta money for it.I didn't buy x-tra coverage on it either like a dumb ***. what can i try to do to get the lines off. verrrry frustrated michelle

    My guess is bad video card. Take the laptop back to seller. Run a scan on your computer for a virus or trojan. If no found virus, then do system restore back to when the computer work right. You can do restore with Vista by insert your Vista DVD disk in your drive and boot from the dvd and do a restore from the repair option. Check with MS on how to a system restore. Plug other monitor to your laptop and see if you get the lines. Then your video card is bad.
