What does it mean when my laptop has a white screen?

When I Turn On My Laptop The Screen Is Blank With A Vertical Yellow Line On The Right Side.What does this mean?

• I Have a Compaq Presario V6000. It's only 1 1/2 yrs old. Sometimes it will turn on, and sometimes the screen will go blank with a vertical yellow line on the right side. I have to restart it several times before it begins to work when this happens. I have no idea what's going on. Can someone help me please?!!?
