How to fix 1366x768 screen resolution problem?

• Running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Compaq Presario CQ62-209WM. It is a very low end, perhaps the lowest end laptop available, however, it proves to be quite useful for playing non graphic intensive games such as Hoyle Board Games 2011, Bejeweled, and several puzzle, word, and strategy games. My problem is that the native resolution for this system is 1366x768, and when I open any game except for 2 or 3, it acts like it goes full screen, but when the game starts to load, the game is only displayed on a 640x480 section of the screen on top of a black background. As soon as the screen turns black when I open a game, I can see the task bar that is generally at the bottom, shrink to the 640x480 size, like the entire computer suddenly thinks it has to be in 640x480 or something. The computer runs all other applications, Firefox, IE8, Word, media Player, everything that is not a game completely fine in 1366x768, and also Bejeweled 2 and 3 DO work full screen. I have checked all the settings for all the games that don't display property, and they are all set to full screen and hi-resolution. Have done a combination of settings between game options and computer display options, but the same result always happens. All games installed have no errors in any game play, are full paid versions installed with a CD ROM, There seems to be no problems with anything except the way Windows displays the games. Its too small to really enjoy, and PC games are non-returnable, and I spent a few bucks, I'd like to enjoy it fully. If anybody has any ideas or tips, please share.   screen res is set by hardware. if the max is 1366x768 then thats it. as for your 640x480....go in the game setting and set them to 1366x768 and not any higher. then while the game is open press alt-ent that toggles full screen
