Why isn't my MacBook screen as bright as it should be?

MacBook Pro screen won't standup?

• My friends macbook bro 17 inch 300GB screen won't stand. I don't know what he did with the screen but I wanted to buy the computer off him until i found out the screen wouldn't stand. What I mean by the words "screen won't stand" is that when you open the laptop the screen doesn't stay still, it just falls all the way back. Normal laptops are supposed to have a screen that stands up so you can actually type while sitting down or laying down. But my friends doesn't Could someone please let me know how much it costs to fix or replace the screen holder on the computer? And could you give me a link to a site because I know this doesn't happen to a laptop frequently and I looked it up on youtube, but it only says thinks like "screen broken" or "screen stays white when power on" It doesn't say screen won't stay still. I really want to buy this laptop and I need the screen to be fixed or else my parents won't let me. So please leave a link and a price. Thanks,

  No one can give you a price without checking it out, most likely the counter balance cable has broke. Take it to an Apple store or Apple certified repair center for a quote. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434
