How to Connect TV to a Computer?

How do I connect my computer to my TV and have two screens?

  • I can get it to where I can see my computer screen exactly the same on my TV but how do I get it to where I can move windows from my computer onto the TV so its like having two computer screens. I watch my teacher do it all the time, he just moves windows out of the computer and onto the tv so that we can watch the movie and he can do other stuff on his computer! HOW??? I've tried searching for settings on the control panel but i dont know where to do (ive got windows vista). thanks!

    your computer system might have a HDMI port. you need a hub which is available at any computer shop to connect with your TV. hub and TV input cable facilitate you. VISTA is not a successful operating system, i suggest you to change it with windows 7.

If you have a video card that supports multiple monitors, or a vga splicer, right click on your desktop and go to 'properties.' In this menu, you should see a bunch of tabs (ie. 'desktop', 'screen saver', 'settings', etc), go to the 'settings' one I believe. If both your tv and monitor are plugged in, you should see a preview image of both of them next to each other and one will be greyed out (this one is your tv). click on the greyed out one and check the box next to "extend my monitor to this screen" or something like that. Then you're good to go

Right click your desktop and select Properties. On the last tab (Settings), click identify. Make sure the TV is on the correct side of the monitor (I'm pretty sure your main display will be 1 and TV 2). For example, if 1 is on the right and 2 is on the left, you can drag and drop them there. Select the TV (Probably display 2) and select Extent to this display. That should be it.

Find some combination of video output in your computer and video input on your TV that works.
