Why does my computer screen have a yellow tint?

My computer is acting wierd it has this funky blue tint with lines going across my screen can u help?

  • my moniter (as i call it "screen") has this blue tint and it wont go away! my computer still works its just annoying i looked up this question and some ppl said somethin about a trojan virus i checked and it said i had 2 trojan viruses i removed them but the computer still has the tint.. did i not remove them as i thought i did whats going on please help...thanks in advance

    its your monitor, you need to degauss. go into your monitors' options and select degauss. or..you could have something magnetic near the monitor, could be a cordless phone

Is it an LCD flat panel monitor, or one of the older bulky CRT ones? It's more likely to be a monitor fault, especially if it's a traditional bulky unit. Unplug the monitor leads and carefully refit them, this normally cures any loose lead issues. If not, borrow another monitor to try out. If the fault vanishes then it's definitely a monitor issue. If it doesn't then it's probably your graphics card. If so, try removing and refitting it as they can be knocked loose but if this doesn't cure it try swapping another one. Finally if you're using a laptop, the problem is likely to be the flexible connector between the screen and keyboard.

the plug has come halfway out - make sure the data cable at both the monitor and computer ends is plugged in. IF it needed degaussing then it would have crazy party colours, not just a blue tint ORRRR your 6yr old has messed with the colour settings and turned the 'blue' all the way up. take a look at the monitors colour settings

Check the wire going between the monitor and computer are securely in at both ends...
