How to hookup up my laptop to my hd tv?

Can you hook a mini laptop up to a non-hd tv?

  • I have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (not a 10v, just a 10) laptop. I also have a 20" RCA TRUFLAT tv .It IS NOT hd. It only has the cable and spots for the rca plugs(yellow, red, and white things). The only that my laptop has are USB ports, a HDMI port, internet cable ports, mic and earphone ports, and a charging port.Is there any way i can connect the two to use the TV as a laptop monitor screen? Does the tv HAVE to be hd? Sorry i'm only 14 i'm not a computer wiz. Here is what the tv looks like : http://pub1.personafile.com/pf/V2524-9/pk-000000000005731-5444310d4c6c4c18acd645e05a89d5ec-30-1-large.jpg PLEASE help me it will be greatly appreciated. xoxo, Taylor

Click the link that is the cable you need for it to work.

No. You'll need a monitor with the proper inputs. My Mini has a VGA out.

You can connect them, but you would need a converter to go from HDMI to composite (Yellow, Red, and White). A straight cable connection won't give your TV a signal it will understand. You can buy a converter that you would need here: http://sewelldirect.com/HDMI-to-Composite-S-video-converter.asp But it would probably be much better to get an HDTV.
