How do I hook up my small tv as my computer monitor?

My tv is new & I was told I can use it as my monitor. How do I hook it up? I have the tv cable w/ red, yellow & white prongs on both ends. Do I hook that up to the back of my computer? the colors are different on the back of my computer. I have yellow, blue, orange & green little circles. Or do I hook a cable modem from the tv to the back of the computer? I have a hook up for that. When I do this, I get video 1 & can't get the screen to come on as my computer. Thanks .

Hey if it is a Hdtv you'll need the vga cable to connect it to the tv and in the back of your pc they always blue and is very easy to hook it up.! =]

I would like to draw your attention to this fact. The TV screen and computer screen very different. The TV is meant to be watched in a distance. On the other hand computer screen is made to be watched very closely. The flicker rate, the resolution, radiation, etc of TV and computer screen are completely different. I never recommend you to use your TV as a substitute for a computer screen. It is bad for your eyes.
