How to make my PS3 show what is on my computer screen?

How can i connect my pc monitor to my PS3?

  • SO! I know this is possible with DirecTV to actually watch what your TV is watching from your computer or iphone or smartphone. So with that being done! Is there a way to make my PS3 be on (playing skyrim) and have the same picture being shown on my computer screen? Probably stupid, but Windows Media Center does things like that right? I know theres probably a lot of things I can do to make this easier, but I dont want to have to unhook my PS3, plug it into my computer, and so on and so forth. For reasons that my PS3 is also my dvd player, and its just too much work to move stuff back and forth. BUT! for future more elaborate ideas! I just want my computer screen to show the same thing my TV is showing to start off! Thank you tons!

    use a hdmi cable from ps3 to monitor , cable that is 3feet will be $2 at dollor store or one 10-15 feet $15-30 at wallmart

If your computer monitor has HDMI connectors, u can connect the PS3 directly to the monitor. If it doesn't there are several methods to display the game on your monitor. If your monitor has component video connections, u can get a cable for the PS3 which has this type of output. Another way is (but difficult if u live in Canada or USA) is to get a HDMI converter box. These are not sold in Canada or United States because of HDCP protections (which are disabled by the converter box). But the box has outputs for several formats (including DVI and VGA (9-pin D-SUB) so will connect to any monitor. The converter boxes are sold in China I know for certain. Whether they are available in other countries, I have no idea.
