Why wont my computer monitor work?

I'm thinking that either a pin in the VGA or DMI connector was broken off (although that causing your problem is unlikely), or your monitor is simply broken. If you tried to use them both in the same area (same room, basically) then it's unlikely that any external interference is causing problems. Looks like it's time to get a new monitor.

May be the inverter is not functioning anymore. Check if you are still under warranty, and RMA it.

Well.. LETS TRY THIS!!! 1. Power-Cycle... (Sometimes, static electricity will cause this issue in a monitor) Disconnect power-cord, press and hold power button for 90 seconds. If no physical power button, let the monitor sit for 24 hours with no power cable in it. Then try powering the monitor back on. 2. If the above-mentioned step does not work, best option would be to purchase a new monitor. They're generally not worth repairing, and I would not recommend under any circumstance opening the monitor yourself, because it can be deadly.

Read this, it's funny and stupid. fix it with your fists, punch it and tell it to work, when it does not co-operate, then punch it some more etc.... And after about 50 punches, hold it at gunpoint and threaten to shoot it. Shoot an un needed part when it does not co-operate. If it still doesn't work, tell it that you will shoot the computer then start a 5 second countdown, then shoot the computer. If your monitor still doesn't work, threaten it with the speakers doing the same as the computer. If all else fails, take a glass of water and pour it on it, take a knife and cut it up a bit, hold it off the edge of a sky scraper, and do whatever else you can to torture it. When that fails you brink it to geek squad where they do an autopsy. Then when they are done, you receive a half monitor half terminator and are amazed. You will plug it in to you computer and speakers and the bullet holes will repair themselves and the cd part will open. You will reach for the cd inside and it will close with massive force, cutting off three of your fingers. You will scream as your mom in the kitchen comes in holding a sharp knife. You turn around while still screaming and she will see you holding up your only finger and your hand full of blood. (she sees you flipping her off and screaming at her and thinks you murdered someone) She screams and throws her hands up forgetting about the knife. The knife flies into your sisters face and she quickly pulls it out and throws it away and acidentally into your shoulder. You run out the door to avoid being further injured and see behind you your monitor/terminator chasing after you with legs it somehow built. You run for the police station and an officer sees you and thinks you are hostile, he starts to shoot which startles a swat guy who is examining a grenade. he acidentally pulls the pin and quickly throws it in your direction. You kick it at a house, it blows a hole in the wall and lights the oven on fire. The gas explodes and catches the underground pipes on fire, the fire travels to the gas company and causes a massive explosion. The U.S. Army arrives with tanks and all sorts of stuff. You somehow survived the explosion which took out the city and they surround you. Your computer is right next to you and starts shooting at the officers and they fire back. Then everything slows into slow motion and as you watch bullets and whatever that huge tank is firing at you approach, the computer glows and teleports everything surrounding. Thankfully all the bullets miss but the tank shell explodes behind you. You look and see the taliban with a nuclear misile that has a black mark about 200 feet away from where the tank shell hit. They scream in arabic language "The americans are attacking! Fire the misiles!" The nuke is lauched and as the taliban shoots at you, the computer teleports but the army men were left behind. You are Really happy to be alive and ask the computer if it can give you medical help. It says "yes" with the microsoft sam voice and you kneel down. You are creeped out as it grows arms as if it's made of a liquid metal. The monitor/terminator reaches for the knife and pulls it out, then quickly before you know what even happened you have 100 puncture wounds from the knife in you chest and the knife is stuck in your head. The next day, the police find your body but can't find your id because your wallet is missing and follow a blood trail that goes to best buy. They enter and it leads all the way to geek squad. They question the manager for 2 minutes and leave. Once they are gone, the computer comes out of hiding and the manager calls everyone to the "secret basement" which happens to be a fallout shelter. The nuke hits and obama doesn't know who sent it so sends nukes to every other continent. After this, everyone is dead and the world is just a flat, grey wasteland. But there is movement under a pile of ash, a hatch opens up and a gu in a radioactive protectant suit crawls out with several others following. Then a computer with legs and arms crawls out and opens up the cd tray. The guy who came out first turns around and has a geek squad manager sign on the front of his suit. He picks up your fingers and tells the others to cook them for food. Then he asks where the main prize was. The computer opens the second cd tray and it has your wallet. He opens it up and is verry happy to find $50 and a free pizza coupon. The end. In conclusion, if you bring it to geek squad, it'll start the apacolypse and you'll get ripped off $50 and a pizza. So the bios data doesn't even show on boot? Assuming it isn't simply a loose connection to the computer, I'd say the thing is fried. It's cheaper to buy a new one than get it repaired, as that is specialist work. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU OPEN IT. Even when unplugged, the capacitors in a display screen can hold major juice. You can kill yourself opening it and messing with the insides.
