Green line on my computer screen?

Red line running down computer screen?

  • I have a thin red line running down my desktop computer screen, approximately 1/3 of the way in from the left side. It's been there for about a year, and the monitor's about a couple years more older than that. The line doesn't appear on other monitor's that i've used for this computer. I HAVE read other questions like this but the responses say what's most likely wrong with them, not how to fix it. So what I am really asking is how to fix this problem, not exactly what's wrong with it. P.S. I haven't sought any solutions when it first appeared because I just switched it then for a smaller monitor (which worked fine), but that monitor was too small and made various game resolutions funny :/. The line wasn't exCEEDingly bothering, but now i'd like to get rid of it. :)

    I would have to agree, if it is just with that monitor then it can't be the graphics card and it most likely cannot be fixed. The monitor probably has a defect and cannot display the green and blue pixels for that column

It sounds like its a part of your monitor basically the video card feeds your screen and the computer monitor the problem is the video from the video card to the screen there is wires and if 1 gets pinched it might cause that from what I am reading you might be better off just getting a bigger monitor to plug in you lose mobility but it would cost allot to get it fixed and there is no guarantee that it will stay fixed.

same with me too, ive replaced graphics card several times, but no difference. mines running across about 1/3 way down. dam it annoying but im used 2 it :)

the only way to get rid of the line is to replace the screeen

It's probably not something that can be fixed. Try taking it back to the vendor or manufacturer.
