How can i reset monitor resolution back to normal?

I have a big problem with my computer. The screen resolution is all messed up and I can't adjust it back. Help?

  • My little brother was messing with the options on our new Vista computer and changed the resolution. I can't get It back like it used to be. When I adjust it, it's either to small of to big. I have a generic PnP Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT. I don't know what to do at all, please help. I've tried all the pixel rang options from 800-600 pixel to 1280-1024 pixels. None of the options are the same as it was before it got screwed with. I'm set at a 32 bit color range and a 60 Hertz refresh rate. Is there any way I can auto reset the defaul with out getting rid of all my other settings? Ask me if you need more information to answer. Thanks a bunch for the help. Post any thing that could help me fix it.

Sorry, I would've helped if I knew. Maybe try and take it to a computer shop for them to try and fix it? I'm sure it wouldn't cost that much.

Try reinstalling the drivers for your video card. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

ok hold on first you have to right click on your screen, go to properties, go to settings, then when it says screen resolution, just move the bar left or right, depending on how big or small you want it.

Check on very top of your computer tool bar. If there is an option view, go to that, then there should be an option for text size, then u can pick what u want.

screen rez settings divide 800 by 600 = 1.3333 this is a rez for a square moniter there are others 1280 by 720 =1.777 (1.6 is better) this is a wide screen monitor you need to do this for all your rez setting also download the latest drivers from Nvidia website http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us click option 2 graphics card it will allow you to download the updates
