What is wrong with my Desktop?

What's wrong with my new HP Pavillion desktop?

  • I just got a HP Pavillion Desktop about two weeks ago. It's a desktop, and when I turn on the Monitor, it's just black and it says searching for DVI, Searching for HDMI, and so on, and it says there is no signal and then the monitor just goes to sleep. It doesn't even let me pull up the menu to check what's wrong. I have the DVI plugged in which is the white cord, and a blue cord that is plugged in, but it stil doesn't show what the desktop is doing, it's just black and says searching for DVI, HDMI, etc. I have them plugged in. The only time it has worked in the past week, it asked if I wanted to resume what I left off or just start over, and I had to reboot it before that to see if it would work, and even after pressing the button and unplugging it, it still wouldn't work, but for some reason that one time(I unpluged everything when it was off and replugged it in) it worked, but when I didn't mess with it for about 30 minutes, it did the same thing. So today, I unplugged everything and plugged it back in and it still didn't work. I need help or suggestions. Is it the monitor? Should I just use my warranty and get it fixed?

    not sure if its the problem but i dont think both should be connected, choose one and try it

Does ur system have a dedicated video card?Then that card might be loose.But if ur system is new then u better not open ur casing as it may void ur warranty.So better utilize the warranty option.

I had this problem before. It's most likely your motherboard is broken. You should use the warranty to get it fixed.
