How to fix screen on my computer?

After i turn on my computer, when windows is opening, my screen goes blank & says no signal! how can i fix?

  • lately Ive been disconnecting my monitor from my computer a lot because i've been using the screen with a laptop. But one day I plug the monitor back into the computer and the screen won't show!! Its plugged in tight, and nothings wrong with the monitor. When i first turn on the computer i can see on the screen, i can see the computer boot. but right after the Windows loading screen it goes blank and I cant get it back! I can see on safe mode. Help please!

    It sounds like your video driver is corrupt or you are using a different monitor than you usually use. This is usually best solved by using VGA mode. When starting up Windows, use the F8 key after BIOS to get to the Boot Options menu that you usually use when entering Safe Mode. You may need to press a key to get to the "Advanced Options" section. Now choose "Enable VGA Mode" from the menu. Windows will now boot in a lower, standard resolution of probably 640x480. From here you can re-install your video driver and choose a better resolution.

You'll have to try and borrow someone else's monitor and hope that it works. Once it's connected, you'll have to right click the desktop and click properties or personalize if you have vista or windows 7 Then click on display settings make the resolution 1024x768 Click on Advance Settings Click on Monitor Change the refresh rate to 60Hz Click OK and close all windows. Switch back to your old monitor. Reload you Monitor drivers
