How do I get my desktop icons back?

All the desktop icons on my laptop just dissapeared. How do i get them back?

Ok im using windows vista, and whenever i log in, all of the icons appear for about 5 seconds. when i tried to click on an icon, nothing happened. Then all of the icons disappear. this happens every time i log in. I heard that you can click right on the mouse, and fix it somehow, but nothing comes up when i click. then i heard you are suppose to go to the task manager, but when i press Ctrl, alt, and Dlt and i pick task manager, Nothing pops up! PLease SOME ONE HELP ME ASAP THANK YOU!

You can perform the following steps to fix the issue. Right click on desktop and select Arrange Icons By. Select Show Desktop Icons. You must be able to see the desktop icons now. If you are still experiencing the problem, ensure that your system is free from virus, you can download free antivirus software avg and scan your system completely to make sure that your system is free from virus.
