Just got new mac and want to play pc game son it.?

  • i got a macbook pro, and ive always used pc. and i have loads of games for my old pc and i want to no if there is anyway i can play them on my mac? thanks:)

  • Answer:

There is the off chance it could work on WINE, which is a sort of compatibility layer for Mac and *Unix computers, but chances are your games won't run very well. You could always dual boot Windows and Mac, considering windows 7 just got released for free in beta, but I doubt that's desirable.

It's a new Macintosh, so it uses a standard Intel CPU. The Pro has either 9400 or 9600m graphics, depending upon model, and both will suffice. Just get Bootcamp and a copy of XP or Vista. If you want to know more, I'm sure the local Apple dealer can help you. @Eryckb: Darwine is indeed a good suggestion for running them under OSX. Works with many older Windows 95 titles, and it does get some newer games running. Check Wine's app database and read about your programs, OP.

get microsoft virtual pc for mac and install windows or use vmware or if you want to run natively like that computer is a pc use bootcamp

If your macbook pro uses an Intel cpu, you could probably install Windows on it also.

No i'm sorry. If the games say MAC compatible then you can play them, but most games are for only PCs. sorry
