Can I replace my CPU on my laptop?

How can you replace your laptop's CPU?

  • Answer:

Well it's not as simple as you think it's gonna be i can tell you that straight up. First youll need to find a processor that's compatible with the socket on your motherboard (and from the fact you want to change it the chances are its and old motherboard) , then youll need to disassemble your laptop to get access to your current processor, unscrew and remove the arm pushing down on it, VERY carefully remove the current processor without damaging ANY pins, then take the new processor VERY CAREFULLY, not letting anything touch or push on the pins, and drop it into position in the correct orientation and screw the securing arm back into place with the thermal paste. If you bend or damage ANY pins then that's your processor or processor holder finished. If you plan on carrying out this operation, do it with extreme care.
