How can I assemble my own laptop?

Can I build a laptop, and if so how much will it cost?

  • I recently came into about $2,000 dollars, and am looking to get a new laptop out of it. Ive checked the specs and asked some of my techier friends, and from what i can tell the new Macbook pro is a rip off. At the same time, I've never been to fond of Microsoft's shitty quality. So my question is can I purcahse each part for my computer for a better value(e.g. ram, hard drive, cpu), and have a professional assemble it for me, for a price, and still come out with either extra money or a better machine then if I were to buy a Macbook or Dell? If so, how much money/horespower can i be expected to save, and will the extra work really be worth it in the long run?

    DONT BUY A DELL!! Buy a Toshiba or HP NOT A DELL!! They are pieces of crap!! Except their Alien Ware Laptops!\ But what ever u do dont get an inspirion or XPS! http://www.alienware.com/Landings/laptops.aspx Id get that last one that starts at 1599. U get more bang for your buck!!

I don't think so you can meet the quality of the Macbook Pro because Apple has a great ability of launching excellent and innovative devices so it is not easy to meet that. So I would recommend you to go with Macbook because it is the best choice instead of any other laptop because once you have it you would have an absolutely unique and excellent experience for which Apple is known. Also it provides many of the features which other laptops do not have so on the whole Macbook is the complete package to have. I would highly recommend Macbook to you. in short. your dreaming if you think you can build one. go out and buy an 800 buck dell if you want. macs are the best but very expensive. forget about building it. unless you're jesus.
