I'm looking for some advice about gaming laptops?
-
I am interested mainly in negative advice. I am planning to purchase a gaming laptop in the near future, and I am trying to determine which ones that I should and/or should not be looking into. Right now, I am currently interested in narrowing down my options. I would like to know if anyone has any specific gaming laptops that they would suggest avoiding. I would like to hear from people who have used the laptops themselves or know someone who has. Please state the specific laptop that you are referring to, and provide a detailed description of the problems that they have encountered with that laptop. Feel free to whine, gripe, or bellyache. And, by all means - complain to your heart's content! *************************** Important: I only want to hear from people who have had first-hand experience with gaming laptops, or who know someone who has owned / used gaming laptops. I do not want a reinterpretation of what some techie website says [I do not care how reputable the website is]. If you wish you may include this type [or any other information] of information in addition to the complaint [brownie points :) for doing so], but that information, alone, will not be a sufficient answer. ************************************ Note: positive reviews of gaming laptops are always welcome, however, they will not likely be chosen as the best answer unless they are accompanied by a fantastic and descriptive complaint regarding other gaming laptops.

I know for a fact, as in first hand experience, that the customer support for Dell and Alienware are the worst services ever! As in, a dog could do a better job. If you are looking for a stellar rig, try this one, 4GB of 1066Mhz DDR3 yes, that's right, fast DDR3, not 2, and a 9700m GTS! All for $1550-http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9036483&st=toshina+X305&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218011399812 Or this is basically the same thing but with DDR2 RAM, and it's only $1350- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114514
No whining here..just buy Alienware...
well... if you want a gaming laptop, just buy any normal laptop( thaat isnt THAT expensive), get windows vista, and buy the newest/popular/favourite game! its that easy, dont fuss over gaming laptops( or you can buy a ps3 or xbox360)
Alienware is crap, they got bought out buy dell and essientally sell xps's for more than an xps. I would suggest the ASUS G50 OR G71 http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=12427 Absolutely rock solid machines
