  • hi all. i have vga output on my laptop to connect another monitor to it , but after connecting the monitor , what to do so i'll be able to see my windows xp on it ,, i still working with my broken laptop monitor , there is an option to extend the screen into both monitors ( the laptop monitor and my lcd ) but thats not what i want all i want is to see the windows xp on my lcd monitor instead of the laptop monitor (not with , INSTEAD ) =) anyidea how ? thanks

  • Answer:

There is usually another button that you can push that will send all graphics out the VGA port. On my laptop I have the Extend button as a Fn F5 key sequence. If I want to send all the graphics out I would push down the Fn key and the F6 key. Hope this helps.

on your desktop, (the main screen) right click and go to properties then go to the settings tab if your other monitor is connected to your computer, then there should be two monitors on the preview click number two. thats the other monitor and make it your primary monitor. then disable the laptop monitor.
